Kirsten Steno, born in Denmark in 1962, is a loving, empathetic, creative, funny, and sensitive soul who is deeply committed to making a positive impact on the world. Every day, she strives to be an expression of love, a changemaker, a peacemaker, a restorer of hope, and an inspiration to those she encounters, both in person and online. Her mission is to make the world a better place for all to live, love, and grow.

With over 30 years of experience as a Scandinavian interior designer, Kirsten has spent the last 12 years integrating the tools she learned as a Martha Beck Life Coach to create House-Coaching. She has mastered the art of blending sustainable and aesthetic design with an understanding of human emotional needs.

In 2015, after returning from a two-year international book tour for a book written in collaboration with BoConcept, a Danish design brand, Kirsten was inspired by the global response to her work. However, she was also frustrated by the recurring questions from her audience, asking how they could become House-Coaches or receive House-Coaching in their own homes. Her answer was always the same: “I am the only one offering this service, and I only provide it in Denmark.”

Determined to share her knowledge more widely, Kirsten founded the House-Coaching Institute. It took two years to develop the pilot program with the help of thirteen volunteer designers and architects. Over the next three years, she created an online platform to train thirty international design professionals to become House-Coaches. These professionals now offer House-Coaching both online and in person, in seven different languages, across Europe, the USA, and Latin America.

In addition to her work with the House-Coaching Institute, Kirsten and her team have designed an interior design online course centered on human needs, aimed at creative and empathic individuals. This course also serves as the admission to the diploma program to become a professional House-Coach.

Kirsten has decorated thousands of homes throughout Scandinavia and authored three books—two in Danish and one in English, with over 70,000 readers. Her books have taken her around the world, allowing her to share her purpose and passion for creating spaces that nurture and empower individuals.
